A letter from the dreamer
Let me tell you, it is hard to be 100% sustainable and eco-friendly. I set out to make this brand good for the Earth, but right now in 2022, it has proven to be difficult to create what I want to create without it being an astronomical amount of money per unit. But I will never give up and I am dedicated to the cause of changing fashion and textile accessories production and the selling of sustainable wares for the better. I believe fast fashion HAS TO become a thing of the past if we want to see global impacts and foster awareness towards the wholesomeness of this planet we live on. If the goal is to make the textiles industry carbon neutral by 2050, even the smallest of companies like Manta Moon have to step up courageously and create a storm of interest in wanting to be 100% for Mother Earth. This is not to say that producers can ignore the wants and needs of our valuable customers, but there have to be options out there for each consumer to get in touch with their moral instincts and actively decide where they want to invest their money.

“Fashion players are spearheading a range of measures, from reaching deep into their supply chains to help develop agricultural practices that avoid GHG-heavy fertilizers to addressing overconsumption and waste by designing more durable or recyclable products.” - from Case Study: Fashion’s Race for New Materials article for The Business of Fashion by Rachel Deeley

Change is happening, and I want to be a part of it. So, where does Manta Moon fit into this narrative? I truly believe that the bags themselves stand on their own as lovely and functional pieces designed around the mat for yogis the world over, but deeper than that, I want to raise awareness. I set out to create something and I promise I did the best I could, but I am not done. This is not the last iteration. I WILL at one point, be a shining example of what can be accomplished. Even though I am not an industry giant with endless resources, I vow to one day produce and sell a bag that I can call eco-fabulous. From the zipper to the inner lining, I will persevere to get there, and keep going.

I want the yogis that take a chance on Manta Moon to go on this journey with me. I want you to use my bags. Use them until they are worn and done. And when you send back that bag for recycling, the next iteration will be waiting for you. It will as always, be the honest truth, next version wherever I am on the path. It took me a lot of soul searching to just take the first step. This is my version of building the plane while it’s flying scenario. I had to start the conversation and I had to put myself out there. With these, the first, imperfectly perfect versions as my jumping off point, I am leaping, arms wide open into yours.

I welcome the love and I welcome the criticisms. I welcome it all because I was put on this Earth to learn. I will give this my all and I won’t apologize for trying.
In deep honor and love,
